About The Maxwell Project

With a five-piece horn section, three strong lead vocalists, and a driving rhythm section, The Maxwell Project (TMP) is best known for its creative interpretations of 70s and 80s R&B, funk, and soul music and crowd-pleasing renditions of Earth, Wind, and Fire and Tower of Power classics.  Recently, the group has added contemporary dance music to the mix to keep any crowd out on the dance floor.

Formerly “Maxwell,” the band has recorded three albums of original material, including its most recent release, “Jamaphonic,” and has appeared in concert with numerous R&B Legends including Russell Thompkins, Jr-Voice of the Stylistics; The Spinners; Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes; GQ; McFadden & Whitehead; The Philly Intruders; The Village People, and Midnight Star.

In 1979, foundation group “Maxwell” enjoyed widespread area radio play with two hit songs—“Radiation Funk” and “A New Star”—both making it into the top 10 on local Top 40 charts. In 2018, they released a collector's 7" vinyl record that is getting airplay in the U.S. and Europe.
